MUMS RETURNING TO THE WORKFORCE
MANAGING THE MIXED EMOTIONS OF RETURNING TO WORK
It could be weeks, months or years since you stepped into the most up side down, all encompassing and unbelievable time of your life, parenthood! The thought of returning to your other job or into a new job can be a mixture of emotions from:
Adult conversations - yay!
I cannot imagine leaving my baby.
How will my child cope in childcare?
How will I manage the work/life thing?
Will I be disadvantaged at work having been away?
I'm supposed to feel guilty but I don't.
What have I missed out on with my employers growth & development?
Gaining the right perspective about your experience and abilities, your motivations and your goals is particularly important as you step into this next phase of your life: as a working mum. Our role is to provide the context, support and guidelines to confidently go in the direction of your choice.
Here's to you!
Getting started on the next phase of your life.
Focusing on what you can do,
not on what you can't by
using what you've got.
EMPLOYERS NOW WANT 'SOFT SKILLS' & THAT'S A BONUS FOR MUMS
Under any circumstances a return to work after time away is a challenge on both practical and emotional terms as mums know better than anyone.
Heading back to an existing role after maternity leave or seeking a new role.
You might be one of so many, finding yourself
facing job loss or redundancy.
Your partners job may have been impacted, the so you are unexpectedly returning to the workforce.
You might not be aware that you come fully equiped with highly valued attitudes and attributes.
There is a renewed focus by employers on the importance of 'soft skills' or as I prefer to call them 'communication skills'. Things such as empathy, inclusive leadership and having a mature ego, have been allocated a far greater level of importance when hiring the right candidate. In fact, it is usually 50% of the hiring criteria!
However... most women have been unprogrammed in
speaking about ourselves powerfully in those terms.
I created these programs for mums who want to leave nothing to chance by finding the right language to market their ability from resume to interview and beyond. To reboot, refocus and step into the interview and the position with a reinvigorated sense of self.

Our confidence & Interview Prep Programs typically cover:
How do I frame my maternity leave in a new job interview?
Recognising false beliefs about myself & my ability.
Rediscovering what motivates/drives you, matching that to the role and identifying the right employer for you.
Overcome that overwhelmed, 'where do I start' feeling.
Putting names to those attitudes and attributes that are your strengths (confidence boost right there!)
Formulating a simple plan to take one step towards what you want to achieve.
Rediscover how to laugh at ourselves amid tough times.
